Here\'s my cover too! (I wonder where I got my colour scheme from... hmm... :p)

Anyways, after surfing the other Mazda3 forum for a while, I decided that inorder to be a 3 fanatic I should join the crowd and paint my cover. That way, I can impress the mechanics!

Work starts some time over the 2-4 weekend..

Used alcohol to clean the cover... I think I got a little bit nauseated by the fumes.

Don\'t forget to cover the back!

Newspaper sucks, use plastic bags for both sides. Faster, and spray proof.

Also, make sure people are done reading the newspaper... ;)

Trying to hastily finish.. I messed up the paint job not giving it enough time to dry. So off it all comes with paint remover. I thought of leaving it as is... kinda rustic looking

Some day\'s later - 4.

In to the car... I wonder how it\'ll do in the long-run? I used a high temperature paint for the sides but not the middle.

That\'s it!

Nice paint job! Do you want to do my calipers?:p It looks great, what colour is that in the middle? It looks kinda teal in the pics. Really spruces up the engine bay but I don\'t think that I have the patience nor the artistic talent to do this. Just an excuse to say that i\'m lazy.:D

Thank\'s guys! I went with a more colonial, neutral blue vs the initial spa blue (sorta like the bright Beamer M3 colour) I tried first.

It\'s really easy to do but you just need patience letting it dry.

Nice cover, btw Electra-fire.

I think that\'s kinda funny that we both did this over the long weekend, with kind of the same concept haha.. So sad.. But AWESOME outcome

I used both newspapers, and then plastic bags when I ran out hehe

What did you use to bring out the raised lettering? Just a plain paint marker?

I am in the process of doing mine too... and my car is white as well...

It\'s the battle of the covers folks;)

Cover wars.. eh? :D *quickly ducks behind his car*

Sabio, I used a silver sharpie from Business Depot.

BTW, it was nice meeting everyone @ the meet this afternoon. Kinda gave me some ideas... though I wanted to see more HID\'s.

Oh... if you don\'t want oil all over it, I suggest you to remove it yourself before you bring the car to the shop. Put it in the trunk or leave it at home.

I like that blue... it looks good with your white car. Did you clear coat it?

The paint should be good enough to withstand the heat. Cuz the cover doesn\'t get really hot. You can remove it by hand right after you\'ve driven the car.

Don\'t forget to cover the back!

I didn\'t cover the back when I did mine, got some funky white/red over spray around the edge, looks cool :D

Good tip, thanks. Yah there must be like 3-4 layers of clear coat.... but I dunno if it really helps.
