Do you think it would be a good idea to install one?

Waste of money with a N/A engine. Now if you\'ve got a turbo then it\'s worth it.

Yup you\'re right.
I was doing some reading last night about oil coolers and found that you can actually chill the oil too much and cause long term effects with the engine. Some oil coolers kit though do have a thermostat to route oil through the cooler once the desire temp is reached... but yeh.. waste of money.

oh u serious? i never knew oil coolers can have an adverse effect instead.
With hot summer days w/ the a/c on, is it still not a good idea to get 1?

the way i see it, is if it was important, one would have been installed by Mazda.

One adverse effect would be your warranty being voided. Also the cooler the oil is, the more viscous it is so the oil will not flow easily. If the engine is not generating enough heat (ie: winters) then some components would not get oiled properly.

edit: spelling :)
