Hello fellow members... I ran a search and couldn\'t find anything...
Do any of you have a problem with the auto down function on the driver side window? I find that sometimes i have to press the button down 3 times before it fully goes down. I have also noticed that it gets worse on hot days...
Here\'s a scenario.... I press the button once (all the way down) and the window goes down about an 1 1/2 inch then stops. I press it again, then stops with about an inch left. Press again and the window is finally open...
I went to avante to have them check it out, along with a rattle in the passenger side door and rattle in the glove box (door still rattles but I will probably end up fixing that myself). After leaving my car there the whole day, the minute I started her up and put the window down it happened again... I was in a rush so i didn\'t go back in. They said they changed the \"switch\", but it obviously did not fix the problem.
Have any of you had this problem before? and if so, what was done to fix it?

Hey Ex-rolla, What model year is yours? I haven\'t heard of your driver window problem before but for the passenger side rattle, I think there is a TSM on that.

.
I have the same problem with the AUTO button. I have brought it up 3 times at the dealer and of course it always works around them :sarc
I find it tends to work around driving around a bit. I know that makes no sense but hey what ya gonna do...
If you find something out post it up.

Never experienced that one.

Will do.... the Service manager said that \"it\'s normal\"... I Thought AUTO DOWN meant you press the button once, then the windows opens all the way!!!!
Anyway... I\'ll let you guys know what happens... It seems to be getting worse when it\'s hot out... And it\'s been real hot the past couple of days
Sometimes I wish they\'d include an \"auto-up\" function too.

Yeah an auto-up feature would be nice. My driver\'s side window opens all the way when I press the switch. I like the one-touch sunroof switch as well.

I would like a 1-touch close sunroof feature.

They should make the sunroof switch a knob that you turn like in VWs. If you turn it half way then then the sunroof opens half way. I also like their locking function where when you turn the key twice or something like that, all the windows close. So if you forget to close your windows you don\'t have to turn your car back on.

VW\'s you can turn the key past lock and hold it there to close all windows (one at a time).

AFAIK this is a safety feature. What if somebody had their head/arm out the thing and it starts closing?
Then we would all be owners of our very own guillotine. :p
FLIPSPEED i\'ll pm you about it once I can send you another since I wasted todays one on yah already, HAHA.

Thanks for the heads up, Flipspeed watch out...;)

Good news everyone, problem with the auto down feature has been fixed. along with the rattle in the front passenger door.
As per the dealer, normally the cause of the problem would the regulator, but in my case it turned out to be the motor.
just an FYI, incase anyone else comes across the problem

Correction... Driver side window is still not going down all the way. I guess it\'s not the motor.
I\'ll give the dealership a call next week.

np... I\'ll give the dealership a call sometime next week. It\'s just a little frustrating that it\'s going to be the 4th time that I will drop my car off for the whole day, for the same problem. (I\'ve also taken it to Avante)
Ahh well... Trial and error. Hopefully that will fix it.
Thanks Flip,

Why do you have to drop your car off for the whole day for such a small thing like replacing a window motor/regulator? Avante replaced a window motor in our P5 in all of 45 minutes.

I\'ll call and ask if they can do it right then and there. I had been wondering the same thing, but I\'ve also noticed that Mazda of Toronto has been extremely busy, so I\'m assuming that\'s the reason. Seeing I\'m coming back for the same problem, I\'m sure they wouldn\'t mind.
anyway, I\'ll keep you guys posted on the outcome, incase something like this happens to anyone else.

Aside from replacing all my 17-inch rims (Link (http://torontomazda3.com/forum/read.php?TID=2460)), Avante Mazda had replaced my passenger door regulator to address the CLICKING noise that the window would make on the way up.

I just experienced this window problem in the wife\'s 3 yesterday. It\'s not a biggie though, I\'ll just have them fix it the next (first) time we take it in.
I noticed recently that my windows are clicking also, sounds like its catching somewhere on its way up, STUPID WINDOWS. I have to get my 24k done and will mention it then. Still debating where to go for that. Thinking on doing a hike to dave wood as they seem to have the cheapest price for it plus most likely wont bug me for my suspension and intake.
unless Flip can tell me otherwise. ;)

Does anybody have an audio clip of this noise?

I was at the dealer on the 18th and problem seems to have been fixed after changing the regulator. It did happen once, but other than that the auto down feature has been operating the way it should

now it is happening to me - takes 3-4 presses of the driver\'s side auto-down button to get the window down all the way. same symptoms too - seems to be worst when it\'s hot outside. will take it in when i get a chance

I too have that problem, but only on hot days. The window wouldn\'t go all the way down with one push of the button. Works fine in the shade, seems like the heat and humidity is affecting it. I also have tints on the window, hopefully that extra layer of film doesn\'t cause friction and making it harder for it to pull all the way down on hot days.

almost all the parts that are being used for the window are plastic. I think because of the heat the plastic is expanding and causing the mechanisms to seize.
BUT I don\'t care about that... they need to find a way to fix it!!!!
