Is this normal?

My 3 is about 2 weeks old, and I\'ve never owned a car before, so I\'m wondering if this is normal or not. After parking in my garage, I get out and notice a crackling/popping type noise. It sounds sort of like little pebbles dinging off metal if you can try to get that sound in your head. It does this for a short while after I stop the car but then eventually stops.

Maybe I\'m just freaking out, but is my car supposed to do that?

edit: I guess I should add that I drove through a street with a lot of debris on it (rocks and pebbles), so maybe they got caught up in the car?

Yeah its like nifty6 said its just your exhaust cooling down, and don\'t be suprised if sometimes (rarely actually)that you hear a really loud pop, that would be your catalydic converter burning off some excess fuel.
