sounds like a body panel or something needs to be replaced (and hence, painted, etc...)
must have been a pretty deep dent. sorry to hear..post the pics up when you get a chance.

Maybe someone ran something into it.. like their bike. I dunno who would intentionally do that, just too cruel.

Friggin\' Crap! That was a flying Shaolin Kick. The ******* decided to put in right on the seam and nearly over the door lock handle mechanism. That was definitely deliberate and malicious. I hope they hurt their friggin ankle and develop plantar faciitus, club foot, bunions and heel spur cancer.
FAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWK I\'m so mad for you.
The only good thing...well...sort of is no real paint damage. But still the unnecessary money to get that bang out could weigh close to getting the door panel replaced in that same friggin\' colour. I gotta leave this thread, my ulcer is flaring up just looking at the door.

Yeah I hate stupid careless people like that. I have dent on my door from some careless lady at Wal-mart who frigging just pushes her cart away after she\'s done using it and of course hits my door. I was in my car and she saw me too and drives off that b****. I chased her down.

So, theres no scratching at all eh?
Was there any tread marks from the bottom of a shoe left? The car looks kinda shiny so I thought a shoe would leave some kind of mark, assuming he/she kicked it with the bottom of their foot.
Strange, feel bad for you though...things like that suck, karma will come around.

No scratching at all. And no tread marks either. Its shiny cuz i waxed it on the weekend...it was the cleanest car in the area, and it was far away from everyone else. I guess it goes to show sh*t happens no matter how careful you are :(

i have an appointment on friday with the dent wizard people, but i dont think its a dent wizard job...i have worked at 2 dealerships, and know what can and cant be done, and mine is unfortunately a cant. I will try regardless. I have had 2 quotes from body shops, and both told me i have to replace the door :(.
The first quote was just under a grand.
The second quote was 780. This guy is family of a friend of mine, and sorta gave me a deal. I will also have to rent a car for 4 days :( no ZOOM ZOOM.
The worst part of this is that im leaving for South Africa in 9 weeks for a month, and i really dont have the money to spend on this right now. :( :(

I can\'t believe that\'s a GRAND worth of damages! That really sucks....
Another thing... the insurance company is suck a BI*CH.... You park your car... it\'s not moving... someone kicks it... and it\'s somehow YOUR fault? That\'s what they are implying if they raise your rate....
It\'s so stupid.
I hope things work out for you man, that really sucks.

I think they classified this as HIT&RUN, u\'ll have to pay the deductibles + some influences on ur future premium rate if u claimed this to insurance. So IMO if the quote is somehow around 1k, I\'ll say \"EAT IT\"! coz u\'ll really have to pay the deductible anyways (I guess most person have $500) I konw it\'s just so innocent, but really not worth to damage ur premium rate in future. :(

Yeah i thought about insurance...and i concluded that they would \"eat me alive\", and as it is i pay 430 a month...so i really dont need it to go any higher.
After a week of thought, ive decided that i will have to leave my car the way it is for the time being(until november:( ). Cuz with my trip coming up i just cant afford to fix it right now.
So if anyone from TM3 sees my car dont think of me as the guy who doesnt take care of his 3, because i do!
UPDATE:
I called the insurance people, and due to how this happened it turns out that it will not affect my insurance rate or \"no claim bonus\". My car goes in next week and will be fixed by the end of the week!:)
TheProfessor
06-21-2005, 06:19 PM
Well, that\'s good news, but somehow I still wouldn\'t be totally comfortable that my rates would not be affected by the claim, if not now than perhaps down the road.

See, things like this really get under my skin.
When I was a bouncer in Windsor, I used to park down the street from the club I worked at, and walk to the club with my uniform on. It was summer, so I didn\'t wear a jacket.
That turned out to be a mistake. Some idiot must have seen me get out of the car, with my shirt that read \"SECURITY\" across the back, and was harbouring a grudge for getting thrown out of some bar (Whether it was mine or another, I don\'t know). All I know is that, when I came back to my car that night, there was a deep scratch all the way from the rear fender to the front headlamp. Dug right into the metal.
Nothing I could do, at that point. Claiming it on my insurance would have just been screwing myself, and a paint job meant having to strip the paint and fill in the metal. Way too expensive for a university student. So I had to leave it like that.
From that point on, I always wore a jacket when getting out of my car before work.
More bad luck!
Yesterday my car went in to get repaired so I took my moms car to work as the rental I was getting was not ready. I was on the 400 nearing the Langstaff and highway 7 exit. The car ahead of me drove over a piece of metal (it was big and it was heavy). I shot up from behind the car and was headed straight for the windshield and my head. I hit the brakes and swerved but it still managed to hit the front quarter panel and drivers side front door, causing severe damage. I went to a few body shops to get some quotes, and the damage is between $1000 and $1200. Yes I know this is unbelievable. $2400 in total on 2 different cars that where in my care at the time.

hi...i am new to this forum but had to comment on your troubles g_g
that totally sucks what happened. I just got my 3 about a month ago, it\'s already in the shop having to get a new fuel pump (thanks to all the great advice i read on this site!!) my last car....just turned 6 days old and I cracked up the bottom of the bumper backing out of my friend\'s driveway (no lights on the street, new development) and didn\'t see the gulley with the huge pipe! still haven\'t had it fixed after 2 years...SHAME
did i mention i almost cracked up the new 3 on the first day....just leaving the lot after literally picking it up....i was so excited about the new car, I almost didn\'t see someone whipping into the lot!
hope all works out for you....at least you are ok...cars can be fixed right?

thanks Fuman but as much as i want to save money with fixing my parents car i just cant take it to a place that you say \"isnt the best\". I mean i would not take my car there so i would feel bad on taking my moms car there.
Got my car back from the body shop yesterday and im not pleased to say the least!
1) the beading on the door wasnt stuck down right and water just flows down into the door panel meaning rust could potentially start
2) the beading on the door sticks up
3) the bottom of the door wasnt painted and is rough and has scratched up the inside of my door frame
numbers 1 and 2 are a small issue and can be fixed in minimal time. Number 3 is really f*cking annoying as now it will need to be redone.
:( i just want my car back:(

Sorry to hear about your car, that really sux.
I had someone back into my demo! Of course it could be worse, I could own the vehicle but I cant put it through my own insurance, I had to pay for the damage just a dent but the bumper had to be replaced (Tribute) No note either. It happened on the street just outside my house! I will keep my M3 in the garage... :)

Fix Auto...the only reason i went there is because my insurance broker recommended it and said they were a preffered shop. MEaning they would garauntee the work for up to 8 years. it hasnt even been 2 days and i have problems already :(

I was in South Africa in September, and they have ppl who are self proclaimed security gaurds....the idea is that they will watch your car for theft and other incidents like mine. Unfortunately, its usually these ppl that are responsible for breaking in.
Seriously can\'t trust ANYBODY anymore eh? Hear about the boxing day burglary in Montreal (http://www.cbc.ca/montreal/story/qc-robbers20051228.html)?
No wonder shop owners didn\'t budge when women and children were screaming to get indoors (http://www.pulse24.com/News/Top_Story/20051228-002/page.asp) during the Yonge/Dundas shooting spree here in TO. :sarc
