Looks like its going to be an awesome game. I just pre-ordered this last night.

I need a decent video card for this game, my Ti4200 isn\'t going to cut it. Apparently you need something like a 6600GT card for this game. I have a P4 2.13 OC w/512 ram and 4xAGP. Do you think I need full 6600GT w/DDR3 or just get a 6600 w/DDR? There\'s a ~$40 difference between the two cards.

start playing the demo, but me not liking it compared to original BF and the DC mod ..

I would start out by getting more memory... back in the day I went from 512k to 1Gb and noticed a big difference. And my video card wasn\'t anything special. ATI 9600 64M I just recently went to an ATI 9800 pro... It runs EVERYTHING just fine... You won\'t need a $600 card to play this game. Just more Memory..

why not get a dual (SLI) setup.. on a PCIe bus.. yumm.. my R9700Pro is still adequate for most games @ 12x10

Looks like I\'m picking up a BFG 6600GT w/AGP. Its on special at $239 with $40 mail-in rebate at CanadaComputers.

Fist you need to leave the heli - for that you hit \"E\" (or similar key you assigned to that action)
and then you hit \"9\" to open up your shute ;)

Yeah,
you made the right choice - GeForce 6600GT is a decent card but more importantly load up your PC with 2gb of RAM (that\'s the max). It makes a huge diffrence in performance.
Myself, I\'ve got a GeForce 6800 and it barely makes thru the game on the medium settings but to be fair I do use a 24\" Dell LCD :p

Overall,
I\'m extremely dissapointed in the video performance in BF2 - no current video card can support that game to its fullest :(
And, to make things even worse the expansion pack which came out recently is even higher on video! The most people can\'t even play it. B-A-D EA B-A-D.

Hey, I have an 256mb AGP ATI X800Pro, so it\'s on the higher end methinks. I think I\'m running full resolutions for everything, but there\'s this one box with anti-liasing or something like that. By default or I guess after the software has reviewed my system specs, it\'s \"off\" or \"low\" or something like that. Can I turn that up? What does it do?

Anti-aliasing just removes the jaggy so your images look smoother. I find it softens the image too much, and slows down the frame rate making it hard to play. I just leave it off all the time.

Another Battlefield 2 tip: Don\'t bother upgrading the sniper rifle to the baret. Use the weapon upgrade for something else.

My screen name is Whos_Ur_Daddy_b!tch (the latter part cause I got angry that all the variations of who\'s ur daddy were taken!). Today, the gentler, kinder me would not use such profane language while stalking people with my anti-tank gun. It\'s just not right.

Its just so fun. :D

Most of the servers I play on seems to originate from Quebec, with nationalistic overtones in their name like the National Front for the Liberation of Quebec. :D LOL. They seem to give me the best pings (latency).

You can see who\'s on the server when you\'re in a game by pressing TAB.

There\'s one or two large 64 players servers in the states, Texas of all places. :hoho I play there a couple of times, but the lag isn\'t that great. Even at night time where the internet traffic is low.

1. You have to be commander to do that. Just click on the Group tab, and click commander.

2. Press fire or left-click. You can play a musical tune if you get good at it.

TIPS #1: Expect Artillery once you\'ve taken or taking a flag. So RUN like mad once you\'ve captured a flag, and look back at the fawkers loitering around the flag getting pumelled by artillery. LOL

TIPS #2: When using anti-tank on vehicle, aim for the driver, usually a one shot kill to the vehicle and occupants. hehe... taken out a whole squad before with that move.

TIPS #3: Get the Automatic Shotgun for the Engineer, Lots of fun in close quaters combat. And YES it is automatic so hold the fire button and aim for the head. LOL. Lotsa recoil thou :D

When some doofus jumps out of his damaged tank to fight you hand to hand, I just love jumping into his tank and then using it to run him over or blow him up. Golden.

This game is awesome, but surprisingly it lacks the blood and gore of some other shoot em ups. In Return to Castlewolfenstein, you would see flying body parts when hit with grenades, rocket launchers, etc. This game, you could hit them with a rocket, and they\'d croak all in one piece. For $60, I expect brain splatter.

Exactly, I\'m so with you on that one Cardinal. This way, if people ever had to avail themselves of a BFG to protect their person and property, they\'d be better prepared to do so! Some people are just so dense, they don\'t get it.

To me Battlefield2 is about the team/squad and tactical play, not the gore or violence.
For the gore and lotsa blood I\'d recommend another fine shooter called F.E.A.R. but be aware that the system specs are high for that sucka... *sigh*

hey people.... I\'m starting to get into Battlefield 2 as well. it\'s a nice game to play on my new comp :D

I\'m usually on the East Coast Public Servers with a whole bunch of people from school. You can find me on the BF2 Servers 159.153.238.18x. The 184 Servers are 3 rounds/map, 185 is Wake Island 2007. I\'m usually a medic or Special Ops. Usually I log on for a couple hours after 10 PM when all my work is done.

As for the system I\'m playing on (I noticed some talk about vid cards and stuff...)

I\'ve been on After-Hourz server a couple of times.

My favourite server so far, is East Coast Gaming network. Relatively good pings and quite a large server often 50+ ppl on it - lotsa good action there. I\'m usually on it after 10pm.

I\'m guessing I should buy this game then.... the reviews from here seem good, and I\'m pretty sure my bitTorrent version (currently at 87% complete ;)) will not support online multiplayer...:(
