I finally painted my calipers this weekend. I used 6 coats of Tremclad rust paint.

(I know - I painted the brake pads. They\'re being replaced next week so I didn\'t bother masking them off.)

Very nice... I don\'t think there is anything wrong with painting the pads. I like it:)

No, it\'s not, but it\'s been used on other cars without any problems.

I think wongpres on the board has his done last year using the same paint.

not all that long - maybe 10 minutes to mask each wheel
as for the total painting time it took about 4-5 hours - most of the time was spent waiting for the paint to dry in between coats

Maybe once you change the pads they wont look so HERE I AM!!!

personally I think something darker would of looked better, but dang I think I am just gonna go with a spray next time. Looks like it would be alot quicker. Did you do just the calipers or the disc plates too?

You meant the rotor hats right? I don\'t see any reason to paint the braking surface of the rotor.

I didn\'t paint them since they\'re being replaced along with the pads soon.

I have a feeling he\'s ordered a set of four black AUTOEXE decals from RedRaptor? :D

Very nicely done, autoexe! Spray seems so much more sanely to apply ... (i\'d go insane if having to be extra careful with brush and paint).

Nah, no stickers. I just wanted to return them to like-new condition and stop them from rusting again this winter.

I was suprised by how easy it was to paint them by spraying (I wanted to paint them using a brush at first) - just take your time masking and spray away!

you don\'t see any reason to paint the braking surface?! there is NO REASON to paint the braking surface.

are you being serious or doing this for jokes...because even a basic ricer knows not to paint the braking surface of the rotor.

FYI, cadmium plated rotors != painted rotors

I don\'t see any reason = no reason :sarc

LOOK at the pictures. Did I paint the braking surface?

I was referring to the fact that I didn\'t paint the rotor hats. Do you have anything better to do other than to go trolling on my threads? If you have nothing useful to contribute, get out, and go back to Mazda3.ca.

nothing useful to contribute? i\'ve been around in the car scene since you were still sucking your thumb and way before you started getting pimples.

95% of my posts on here are more useful than all 100% of yours. why don\'t you get out since your posts are idiotic and serve no purpose but to brag about how great your car is.

And a 70 year old taxicab driver has been driving before you were even born. What does that mean? Nothing.

Just thought you\'d also like accuse him of painting his rotors, being idiotic, and bragging too. If you want more calipers threads to crap on, majic will kindly show you the search function.

that\'s a good one...how long did it take you to come up with that one? too bad your analogy doesn\'t work in this case.

ok, nothing to contribute? how about that DRL fix you have on your car...who posted it first here? rhetorical question, so don\'t bother answering it since we all know that answer.

ETB ground...who was one of the first to try it here and the first to post the how-to? again, rhetorical question, so don\'t bother answering it either. too bad your naive arse went and bought an \"earthing kit\" for an obscene amount of money that turned out to be utterly useless, when <$10 in parts would\'ve sufficed.

i\'ll crap on your threads since i find you asinine. case in point, you\'re the first to raise the race card when a cop yells at you for your tint and whenever a cop pulls you over. or when Lockdown drilled a grounding point for your HIDS and you didn\'t want them to drill and whined like a kid on here about it. i can go on and on...fact of the matter is, between me and you, you\'re the useless one.

Great. So you finally admit to thread crapping.

So 99% of the other members did not post a DRL fix or an ETB ground here either. I guess that\'s supposed to make you better than them too. And where did the ETB ground come from? M3F. I\'m 100% sure you were not the one who created the original thread about the ETB ground back on M3F.

I never made any reference about race when a cop pulled me over for my 35% tint. Until you learn to stop putting words in my mouth, it\'s a pointless argument. We could go on forever.

May we finally get back on topic? If you don\'t like this theard, don\'t read it, and don\'t reply in it.

Well...here is the statement that makes the most sense for me.

Calling out MajesticBlueN about not contributing wasn\'t smart...a search on TM3 says otherwise.

Just give it up with acting like a \"big man\" online...I think you really touched a nerve when you started telling people to get out. Who the f___k do you think you are telling people to leave the forum? What if Paul Martin had enough of Chinese people who don\'t speak English and told them to leave Canada?

You don\'t run the forum and even if you did...where do you get off telling people to get out? As much as I don\'t like you, have I ever told you to leave TM3 or Canada?

Grow up, and have some respect for people who know more than you by trying to learn from them. This isn\'t the first time you\'ve pulled the \"you don\'t contribute\" card on people. I can understand when you pulled it on me on M3F, but pulling that card on MajesticBlueN on TM3 is character suicide on yourself since anyone who has been here long enough knows how much he has \"contributed\".

Or maybe you define \"Contribution\" as taking huge pics with an expensive camera and a tripod? In that case, I would give the nod to you as a better contributor.

Cheers,
Red.

Since when did I deny his contribution to TM3? Hell, I even used his method of disabling the DRLs on my car. I was refering to this thread all along.

I believe I have every right to tell him to get out of my thread for thread crapping.

Tell me what useful contribution he has made to this thread and I\'ll shut up.

Ricerexe,

I would recommend in the future that you let the mods like wtom, bluntman, xenon and flipspeed moderator the forum and your thread. If they feel that someone has stepped out of line and has thread crapped (as you claim), they will take care of it. If you are afraid of criticism, don\'t start a thread, it really is that simple.

PM a mod next time you feel that someone has done injustice to you (which according to you is quite often online and in real life) instead of being an arrogant arse and telling people to go back to another forum.
