Maybe this was posted already, but I came cross a recall for the 2005 Mazda 3:

On certain vehicles, due to a crack in the solder connection attaching the acceleration sensor in the airbag control unit, the airbag may not deploy when the vehicle is involved in a frontal crash. Correction: Dealers will replace the airbag control unit.

so in this case, are we suppose to be contacted by our dealer to correct this problem? how do we know which certain vehicles have this defect? no build date info?...well this is a safety concern that has to be corrected immediately...

I haven\'t received any news on this recall and I get them right from Mazda Canada right away. Notice it says # of units (vehicles) affected is 9.:sarc

I\'ll check on this recall and keep everyone posted.

Moving this to \"Problems with the Mazda 3.\"

Until my airbag light on the dash would not shut off.. So I took mine in to Gyro and had it fixed. It always better safe than sorry.
This isn\'t related to the crash zone sensor recall. This is actually another one for the 05 models. The faulty crash sensor problem was fixed in the 05 cars. There is currently 1 recall for our cars and that\'s the faulty crash sensor. Not bad for a 2 year old car.
