Blackberry 9700 for turn-by-turn in M3, newbie asking
Anyone using his Blackberry Bold 9700 for turn by turn navigation / gps in a Mazda 3?
If so, some very basic questions I have:
- what mount do you use / recommend (make and model please) - there are many in the market but I can't find references of people recommending any specific model for mazda 3. Looking into something that doesn't require drilling nor adhesives, and that can be installed in the dash. Hopefully discrete enough not to attract thieves, or easily removable.
- what turn-by-turn navigation software do you use / recommend (navtel, garmin, googlemaps, blackberry's own)
- could you get the turn-by-turn navigation software to speak through the car audio system over bluetooth?
- what blackberry charger you use (make / model)
Thanks

I use google maps and make sure I check the route in advance for mistakes. It just sits in my cupholder. I usually center the map over my destination and just make sure my little blue dot stays on the plotted course. Then I zoom in as needed once I get closer to my destination.

you just need it for the GTA it's great,(i'm with Wind) but if you travel outside the GTA you may want to get a proper GPS to avoid roaming charges and places without signal

Thanks for the tip. I am m with Wind too :)
I kind of realized that for turn by turn I will need a gps device designed for cars. But I never imagined that choosing a gps would be so complicated, way too many nuvi's to choose from. Finally I ordered a nuvi 765 in newegg.ca, with a garmin dash friction mount that thousands of people rated with 5 stars in amazon.
Soon I will have to figure out how to hide away / "hardwire" the power cable, I really don't like cables running in front of the dash.
