Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
never painted fabric, but I know there is a member on here that went from tan to black by painting everything in the car. you might have to search a bit, but it has been done.
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
I did my door panels and headliner black so far no issue, only problem that I had was the smell which went away after a few days
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
Thanks guys, Ill be doing the headliner, seats and carpets!
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
Headliner and carpets I wouldn't be worried.
The seats on the other hand. I dunno.
Either way keep me updated. I'm wanting to redo my headliner this year.
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
I know what you mean. I just don't want to sit in my car on a hot day and have the paint bleed out. Ive done the carpets in my nissan and it came out fine. Headliners a first for me... Black headliner all the way. Did you paint your headliner in the car or did you take it out?

I haven't done it yet.
I'm going to be taking it out. Im most likely going to be re covering it with a suede type material.
I'm also hoping to be swapping seats to leather and painting my pillars.
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
Not really the biggest issue for me. Hopefully no one fully examines the headliner. Ive been looking for a Alcantara fabric to place over it but i cant find anything cheap.
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
Sounds awesome, i wanna see the finished product!

You're trying to paint your carpets black with red paint? I don't think it'll work...
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
I was honestly hoping no one would catch that mistake :(
Re: DupliColor Fabric Paint
I could see the headliner and other upholstry parts working, but the seats however are different story. Even if the paint dryed, if you sweat through your shirt and make contact with the painted seats, the acid in your sweat can cause the paint to run a bit. I would suggest you read the label to and see what the long term effects of exposure to the paint can do. Even if it is dry on really hot days that paint can still emit harmful fumes.
