hey flip.. is it possible if i can pick up one of these key late august/ early sept??? i m not in toronto rite now.. and i want one of the flip keys when i get bak from summer ><
1 question.. will it work on the 06 mazda 3?
It works on my 06. The only difference is that I can only program a total of 2 remotes, so one of my original remotes is now useless. I suspect that is the same for all 06\'s.Quote:

Sorry - I\'ve successfully programmed 3 remotes (the two originals and the flip) on my 06 - M3. Works like a charm. Did it as per the directions provided. All the beeps, flashes, locks etc happened when they should.
Well why can\'t I program more than 2? I know others have had this problem. Any patter to it?
Maybe re-try the whole procedure. Maybe you missed something?Quote:

Just got mine last week. No problem with the programming although it took me two tries for the keys. Worked flawlessly.:)
Well what I did was program the new remote first. Upon programming it, one of the other remotes were de-programmed. So I re-programmed the one that was de-programmed and it de-programmed the new remote that I just programmed! This basically went back and forth a few times until I gave up.Quote:

I think you have to do all 3 at once.
Oh.. I guess I misread the directions. I have to do step 7 all at once for all 3? Cool. I\'ll try that later.Quote:

If it works, post it...then you can do mine.
All at the same time.;)Quote:

Sweet. It worked. I now have 3 working remotes. :)
Maybe you were just too excited?
I have been using my flipkey for a couple of weeks now but two days ago my remote stops working intermittently. I occassionally get the buzzer in the car going on as if I had left the key in the ignition. Everytime this happens, the remote does not operate. Has anyone observe the same problem ? I may need to reprogramme but before I do this I would like to check if this has happened to anyone before and what was done to correct ir.
Thanks.:sarc

Thanks Majic. Is this a major job ? Is the solution also a permanent fix?
book an appointment.. be prepared to stay at the dealership for a while b/c the problem is INTERMITTENT so they might hand you the keys and say \"nothing wrong\"Quote:

they will probably have to order the part in for you..
Thanks again. I have booked an appointment for Tuesday next week and will leave the car with Mazda of TO for the day. This is very annoying ! This afternoon during my lunch break I had the problem again. It was very embarrasing when people see you fumbling with the key and the remote to get the car opened, like the car is not yours !
A Quick Update:
Left the car with Mazda of TO for the day. Problem fixed - it was the ignition switch as Majic suspected. Thanks to Stanley at Mazda of TO.
:D
Great to hear everything worked out. That was weird how your door chimed even with the key out of the ignition.Quote:

Has anyone had this happen to their flipkey... at first it ran out of batteries - the little LED would not light up when a button was pressed. Cracked it open, pulled out the battery and sure enough it was flat.
Just picked up a new battery, threw it in, and now the LED is blinking non-stop. Pressing the buttons has not effect on the LED or the doors...
I'm yet to try to reprogram the flipkey - the remote control part of it - but I'm just curious if any of you guys has something similar happen.
*Update*
After about an hour or two the blinking stopped and the remote started working again with out having to be reprogrammed. Perhaps that's "normal" behavior for changing a battery?
damn that key is hot.. on my want list!
Does anyone know if there are any differences between the 04-06 keys compared to the 07s? I believe I heard on another board that key on the 07 contains a chip and that a regular flipkey would not work. Can someone confirm it with their 2007 Mz3.
It will work, I cut a flip-key set-up for berrypride on her 07 hatch. The transmitter module reads 04-07 remotes.
how much is it now? you have them in stock?
i have a 2007 GS Sedan, bought two flip keys, both programmed and work.
Just dropped by MoT today and got a Flip Key from Joe. Got home and programmed it right away and it's working great!!
I keep meaning to buy one of those. Would like the Mazda6 wagon flip key though, that way I dont have a useless button for my hatch.
Too bad there isn't a way to make the trunk button work for the sedans!
Sedan Trunk Release

I'm sorry for digging up this thread that was last dated in March but:
1. The link does not work anymore
2. Has anyone figured out how to configure trunk release on their flipkey?
you can get the trunk release to work with the flip key. The catch is, it doesn't work via the trunk button, instead when you double tap the lock button it opens the hood.
As of yet, I haven't see a workaround to have the trunk button work.
At least that is better than nothing... where can I get that programmed and how much will it cost?
Talk to Joe @ MOT and he can hook you up
How about making the gas cap cover release with the key fob? I got out to fill up gas the other day, and walked all the way around the car to realize I forgot to pull the lever in the footwell. doh! How is that lever connected to the gas cap cover?
