hehe, was hard to hear cause of people in the background. anyawy,, just been researching for hours on the rods to see what their limit is on the 2.5l. turns out they should be the same as the 2.3l, the bore and the crank lift are what make up the displacement. that being said, i dont want to throw a rod. anything over 220whp, and your asking for trouble, especially if you raise the rpms. cosworth claims that 220bhp is when you should change the rods and that a fuel rail with larger injectors will be needed at 200 bhp which is about where im at now, but have not needed it yet. so skeptical about their numbers, others on the mx5, mazda 6 sites think that 250hp is the max before the rods start to break. keeping it at 6100 or around there should help keep the rods intact, in theory hopefully. planning to just do the cams for now to see how the car takes to it. then go from there. if need be, forged parts and higher rpms in the future
