Just got this Mio Mivue 358 dashcam on Amazon.ca. The idea was to capture great footage for YouTube when I'm on the road in my big/transport truck or cruising around in the Mazda 3.
The picture/video and audio quality are pretty decent. It shoots in 1080p or 720p, comes with motion detection, G-sensor, auto start and more. The cam records files in MOV format. They play on my Dell with Windows 8 in the Movie Maker but there's no sound. Tried installing various codecs and they don't work. Used Corel's VideoStudio Ultimate X6 for a couple of vids and the sound played fine. But it was too complicated and full of bugs (Corel, not the cam) and I returned it to the manufacturer for a refund. These cams are great as protection against bad drivers as you can have this camera rolling 24/7, even when you're not in the car. Once the SD card is full, the cam starts erasing earlier files and recording over. Here's a couple of reviews I did.
