odd thing though is that is is spreading?? but i never see water droplets or anything just that weird smudge
ok UPDATE on my visit to mazda...my first service was completed...but the bunny brains tried to weasel out of my faulty headlamps...finally they agreed one was faulty and that a rep from Mazda Aust will need to take a look and assess ...the stealership did say most likely they will replace it however they said the frosting in the other lamp was minor and couldn't notice it as much...I freak and tell em BULLF**KING SHIT ur replacing both...so I will need to bring the car back for a rep to see for himself...freakin *******s...my eye is like an eagle and they try to question me...I will take this further to express my disgust!
I will try to get mine replaced tomorrow.
Okay I have gone through most of the thread and it doesn't appear that anyone has identified the problem. I have a neighbour with a 2010 that has the headlight problem and he showed me what Mazda did and it looks like they installed ceramic resistors inline (see orange block in picture) to take part of the load. They replaced one headlight assembly already but the other one is now "fogged". I am curious if this problem has been rectified with my 2012? Can anyone confirm?

^ If you have read thru my past complaints in this thread, I had the same issue many times (on two different sides) and the latest swap was to have fix this issue completely. Anyway, I have no more warranty, if this happens again ... I would be totally pissed.
the headlight assembly was changed for design and added vents to prevent the issue i do believe. so on vehicles 2011 + shouldnt have any issues at all. hard to say 100% with vehicles that have had the lamps replaced as i would hope they have the new design but it would be hard to say so.
IMO they have to warranty the work they did. Put it this way if your engine blew up 1 day before the warranty expired and they fixed it the next day and you drove off the lot and it blew up again it would still be covered for X amount of days. They couldn't in good faith say "sorry, your warranty expired yesterday..."
It amazes me how many people simply take "no" for an answer and just walk away.
If I were to open the lens, would I be able clean it from the inside? Would the film come off or is the lens permanently damaged?
