currently have a Apline Mrp-M500 Amp, and im looking to get a good set of subs to match up with it.... hoping for dual 10s or maybe even low power 12s.. also dont want to spend alot of money.. suggestions for something cheap yet good. and maybe a good place to buy them?

Altough I'm not an audio freak, I'd say look on Kijiji, it's amazing the amount of money you save for a really good and clean subwoofer. The only thing I know is depending on the type of music you listen to, you'll want a different type of box, either sealed, ported or bandpass.

Kijiji, or if you were to wait like a month, i'd have 2x 300W Pioneer TSw303-c's in a ported box. for sale

I have a MTX Thunder 12" in a bassworx box sitting in my basement. Used it for a year then got a new a car and it couldn't fit with my equipment. If you're interested in it let me know, I'm sure we can agree on something.

500watts is not merly enough power for 2 woofers.
Your better off getting one woofer, my preference is always a 10" in a small car like a mazda.
1-10" woofer built in a ported box tuned properly with 500 watts RMS would do a very nice job and also if its not enough youll always have room for another 1 in the future.
10" woofers give you alot cleaner bass the only other option is a 12" woofer in a sealed enclosure for clean bass but that wont be merly as loud as the 10" ported.

Yeah I've got the same amp and its awesome. I just have 1 10inch JL audio sub and I paid $200 for it. This setup for me is perfect and sounds great.

That's a seriously capable amp for the money. I had one before i went with the JL XD series stuff. I ran that amp with a JL 8w3, 10w3HO cabinet and then my 10w6, and it performed beautifully with all of them.

I'm a big JL fan, I think both their drivers and their cabinets really push the engineering limits of subwoofer technology. Even their entry level stuff sounds better than most. Favourite all around from them is the W3 series stuff. Well priced and amazing SQ for the money.

you don't need Dual 10's let alone 12's in a car this size unless you inter to be heard before you're seen. A good single cabinet will punch you hard in the cabin.

Also, go for sealed or ported. Sealed for SQ, ported for loud (in general). Bandpass boxes are only for ricers who want to be heard blocks away and don't care what it sounds like. All show no go... There ARE such thing as good bandpass boxes.. sort of... but as someone before me has said "They are awesome when done correctly and embarassing when done incorrectly" And it's super easy to do them incorrectly.

I used an mrp500 with the w3v3 sub ported that I have listed for sale. They pound well and it's more than enough!
