    Question Water Issues????

Hey I recently purchased a used 2007 Mazda 3 sedan (not sure trim level and only 99k) at a dealer auction thanks to a dealer friend the car was taken to the local mazda dealer to get serviced it had oil changed new brakes put on new tires etc ive had a lot of rain recently in my area and have come to discover water in the driver side cabin on the floor the carpet was and is soaked not sure what the problem is ive read up on possible door seal issues but im not sure only seems to be soaked on driver side was a little wet in the back driver side as well but mainly the front. Anyone have any ideas what would cause this?

Nope, not that I'm aware of.

I suppose there is always the chance it was in an accident which is allowing some water in. Do you know if it's been in an accident?

I don't know for sure im going to be getting a mechanic to look it over in a couple days I may check an see if their is a carproof on the vehicle the front is soaked an the back driver side is also a little wet to while front an back passenger sides are dry its odd though that back driver side to be wet right now because it is currently parked on a hill and the front of car is facing down the hill

Is there any water in the trunk?

The back window or trunk "could" be leaking and running down and soaking the carpet. Highly unlikely but anything is possible.

If the concentration of water is in the front, I would check the front seals/firewall as it's most likely coming from there.

Go to a glass place and let them test to see if it's coming from the glass.

My brother truck developed a leak after it he got his windshield replaced a couple years ago... He went back and they checked and found the water leak and everything has being good since they fixed it.

Have you taken the car through a touchiness wash?

That would be my first stop. To see if you have any visible leaks.

Water found on the front passenger side floor is USUALLY a sign of either a windsheild seal or a heater core leak...Have both traced and checked out.

I had this problem on a previous vehicle, turned out to be the evaporator drain hose came loose and/or had a crack (can't recall). With the A/C running, the evaporator was drying the air but draining the removed moisture underneath the passenger carpets, until it managed to soak up from the floor through the carpet padding and carpet itself, at which point it became apparent to me. Boy was that a mess to clean up...

Oops read it too fast I guess. Driver's side rear and front floor? ...Maybe someone left a window open or a door slightly ajar. Otherwise it would most likely be a window seal as the OP believes.
