Hello folks,
I have Mazda 3 GS 2005. One year ago, my power steering became intermittent. I went to the garage and they replaced the pump with the control module. Few weeks ago , the intermittent problem reappeared. I cleaned myself all three connectors connected to the control module. The right one was really muddy.
That fixed the problem, the power steering works fine now. However, the light on the dashboard stayed ON. Then I bought an ELM327 OBD reader from ebay and tried to connect to the ECU. But it seems that the EHPAS module cannot be accessed by ELM327. I've seen on my bill from 2012 that they charged $300 to reprogram the PS module but in another garage !? It seems that not all mechanics own an OBD reader able to access the MAZDA 3 EHPAS.
Any other people having similar problem?
Any suggestions how can I clear the PS light?
- A special software that I can use with my ELM327?
- Buy another scanner/reader capable to access Mazda 3 EHPAS module?
- Some other way to turn off the light? Y tried to disconnect the battery but it doesn't help.
Thanks
