Hey everyone!
I'm looking into buying a 2004 Mazda 3 GT, sedan this weekend.
Car details:
206,000 kms
E-tested
Fully Loaded
Automatic transmission
Sunroof
Power locks
No rusting
Very clean inside
The private seller was selling it for $2900 and I managed to get it down for $2000 since I was serious to drive all the way to Oshawa from Brampton. Anyways, we test drove it and everything seems good. However, I don't know much about cars.. I drove a 1996 Honda Civic Hatchback and gave me all the problems possible.
QUESTIONS:
I was wondering if $2000 is a good price for this car.. I saw others going for over $3,000 with higher kms.. is this okay?
The body looks great.. theres very minimal rusting in the bottom by the door and around the light located in the trunk.. I am definitely considering rust proofing it or whatever advice to extend the life of this car since my old honda rusted so bad the rear is practically coming off, lol..
Also, theres a huge crack on the windshield that I need to fix to pass safety.. any idea how much that will cost? I phoned a shop and they quoted me $275, should I keep looking around? Any recommendations around brampton? My mechanic can do the safety for me however, everytime I come out of there, something wrong happens to my old car and I think they make up shit thats wrong with it so I can pay more, lol.. I know nothing about cars.
Another thing is that the seller only had ONE key, and its the "mechanic key," it wasn't a keyless entry fob, for sure. I was wondering, how and where can I get a keyless entry fob for this car? I would love to have 2 keyless entry and the "mechanic key" it comes with just for spare.
Please let me know any tips and advices! I'm sure to be purchasing this car this weekend. I would love to get more opinions and pointers of what to look for before I officially buy it. Thank you!!!
