The only picture that matters in this thread...was expecting ~290whp/320wtrq. Thanks @Fobio for setting this dyno day up

I recently had the opportunity to go to the Tail of the Dragon with folks from MSF. I had an amazing time. Can't recommend this trip enough to all the gearheads. The drive is a bit long, but it is well worth it. I have never driven on a road like the Tail of the Dragon and the Cherohala Skyway. It is a combination of a autox and road circuit. On the Skyway it is easy to go over 100mph in certain parts whereas on the dragon the twisties will give your arms and your suspension a heavy workout. I am already planning my next trip down there.
Here are some pics. I will upload more soon and hopefully some videos as well. I didnt wash the car the entire trip so dont mind the dirty car. Also if you look carefully you will see how much I was using the brakes. The front wheels are coated with brake dust.

Did you bring a barf bag for Rae? Hahaha.. Glad to hear you guys had a great time..
I just got back from the Dragon myself. I go every year with the guys from rx7club.com
The dragon is a great road, but very congested on the weekend. I took a few extra days and had my best runs on Monday the 20th. The Dragon was empty with the exception of one TN state trooper parked right at the NC/TN border. One sighting run to make sure he didn't have any friends along the way and then it was back to having fun.
There are other fantastic drives down there too, the Diamondback loop near New Switzerland is another good technical road. The Blue Ridge Parkway is great for driving as well. It's not as much of a workout as the Dragon or Diamondback, but it has a great flow to it and some of the best views in the mountains.

Almost the same pic!!
This is how my first run ended lol
Did not mean to hijack...just wanted to share my experience. I agree 100% it is a long drive but worth every kilometer. Driving the dragon alone would be worth the drive again but the Cherohala skyway is definitely a nice perk to add to the trip. @mickey_g

Haha she was fine for the most part but she wasnt happy about the 12+ hour drive.
Oh nice! We were there from the 24-26. I agree the blue ridge parkway is a great road. That was a nice little surprise. I would have been happy with just the Dragon but pretty much every road we turned off on was amazing.
The trooper was in the exact same spot when we went as well. The state troopers and the county sheriff's dept were actually extremely lenient with us since we raised quite a bit of money for Robbinsville and donated a lot of food for the local food bank. They only cared if we went over the double yellow lines. Speeding not so much. I went by a trooper at a pretty high speed on the skyway and he left me alone. Similar stories with the other guys as well.
Yeah all the roads are great there. We did quite a few of the side roads and every single one of them was a gem. The drive is long but there is plenty to see along the way so we made periodic stops along the way which of course added to the time of the drive. The night we arrived in Robbinsville, we were one the road for 22+ hours haha...I got lucky and thankfully no tickets at the dragon or along the way.
Hopefully there is a TM3 trip again in the future. I missed out on the previous one.
From MOM:
Unfortunately I wasn't able to get any more good ones of your car. Next time!

Thanks a lot man for taking all the pics and sorting through them so quick. I know what a pain going through all these pics are.
