Default 2006 Hatchback GT - Right headlight low beam not working

My low beam on the right side won't turn on even after replacing with brand new bulbs, left side works fine with the new bulb but the right side doesn't work at all. All other lights, on both sides work fine. I'm guessing it's electrical or wiring problem. Has anyone else had similar problems? Would a scan help figure out the issue?

On another note, I just bought the car on the 15th, and the seller had the safety done on the 14th, but this issue should have to have been fixed for the safety to pass and since the bulb that was in the headlight was physically broken (it looked like someone tried to replace it) I doubt this issue wasn't present the day before. Is there anything I can do to get this fixed without me paying for it? I've already spent the money on the new bulbs but this could be something deeper and more expensive to have fixed. Can I contact the place where he did the safety and hold them liable for passing it?

Clean the contacts and push the socket all the way in and pull it back gently you will feel a soft click. It means that it's seated properly.

If that doesnt work the plug might need replacing sometimes the corrosion goes in to the wires further down or the fuse is blown

The most frequent problem of all used cars is a bad connection. If you have a voltmeter try to see if there is power on the plug and try to check the wires are fine. If you have HID lights - there may be a problem with a ballast.
Otherwise take it to a car electrician, he will find the problem very fast using tester. It shouldn't cost you a lot.
