Default Crazy amount of black carbon crap on exhaust tips

I feel like I cannot keep these damn things clean. I have a lot of mods, and my car puts out a generous puff of black smoke when I go WOT... but that has always been normal for me even when somewhat stock.

Anyone have this problem? Good cleaning tips or prevention? I have read easy off oven cleaner might be something to try... but if that hit mah paint... ahhh.

0000 steel wool, followed by some mother's aluminum polish.

    works mint.

Your car must be Donald Trump on a treadmill because you're running rich.

Some people shell out extra cash for black exhaust tips. Enjoy this Christmas miracle.

Just give up on them ever being clean now...clearly your tune isn't very good if you're puffing a lot of black smoke, but it's impossible to get rid of all of it.

I will admit - the tune is a bit rough around the edges...

Was waiting for my big turbo build to get the tune done right... or perhaps I should start poking around with some logs and the Accessport Race Software... (which also might be a horrible idea).

Ill look into the steel wool and polish - thanks.

Tried this process a couple of times and definitely way easier to get a great result.
