'09 rear wheel arches fit '06??

I have a 2006 Mazda 3 with rusty rear wheel arches. My local wrecking yard just got in an '09 which has very slight differences in terms of the placement of the gas cover etc. My question is, if I cut out the wheel arches and inner wheel wells, below the gas filler door would the lower panels (wheel arches) conform to the '06 well enough to tig them in?

I don't see why they wouldn't be identical actually. I don't think they made any changes to side panels. Front and rear bumpers and grills yes but not rear quarter panels.

You could try finding a collision center who contracts with a Mazda dealer and go ask them to be sure.
