Pricing could have changed though. I would still send him a PM.

I was there 2 days ago and needed a FOB reprogrammed and a key made and was going to go with the flipkey and those prices are right. Unfortunately, the tech could not seem to get the flipkey to work with my car ('06 3 Sport) so I just went with the key and my spare fob.

BTW..the Fobs by themselves (not the flip ones) are almost $200. It's ridiculous.

What dealership did you go to and what specifically couldn't they get to work, key or the fob? I had mine cut by Joe and programmed it myself in like 3 min.

Hey Flipdaddy, How much would it cost to get a key cut and programmed? I only have 1 key, so I can't program my own.

I went to MoT. The tech couldn't (supposedly) get the flip-key (fob part) to work with the car so instead he ended up just doing a key alone (since I had a spare fob anyways, it wasn;t a huge deal). They charge an hours labour for it too...good thing the dealer where I bought my car is paying for it,

I'm sure it did originally. When I got it the dealer only had 1 key and 1 fob. When I picked it up he had managed to find another fob, although that fob needed to be programmed to the car. Thus I got that fob programmed and a key made and programmed.

Did the fob also work on the ebay key?
    I'm debating buying this:http://cgi.ebay.ca/05-06-07-2005-200...#ht_665wt_1165

The bad thing is I only have 1 key, so I will need to get a dealer to program the key. I can program the fob myself though.

So I did end up buying a flip key off ebay. Paid $44CDN total shipped. Now I just need to figure out which dealer I should take it to for the programming. Does anyone know how much their dealer charges? I think Probart Mazda in London charges $68.94.

That is the guy I bought mine from. Although it says he will only ship to the US, I messaged him and he said he's willing to ship to Canada for the same shipping charge.

His remote (FCC ID: BGBX1T478SKE125-01.) won't work for M3 YR05 for sure (I think it will work for different model like M5 or M3 YR > 08) because I have one in my hand but the key does work. If you want to buy for 04-06 M3, then uses these numbers bellow

4 buttons remote, it works on M3 YR05
    FCC ID: KPU41788
    IC : 4238A-41525
    VISTEON 41525

3 buttons remote, I think this number
    FCC ID: KPU41788
    IC : 4238A-41525
    VISTEON 41524

I bought it from that guy but I paid more than now. Also you have to buy a key blank look like this one

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/UNCUT...item5d27bb72f2

Or you want to save money, go to Rone/HD to cut a key about $3.29 then uses some tool to cut the end the same in the picture above or uses the one you're already have to make at a template to cut it. The key blank plus transponder is for $57 from the dealer.

FYI to those with 2007 Mz3 Sport GT.

I just got my flip key cut and programmed it myself using the instructions from the beginning of this thread.

Part numbers that worked for me (provided by Flipdady; thanks again man):
    GP7A-67-5RYB - transmitter
    G2YA-76-2GXB - flip key

    Cheers,

Just got my 2nd flip key in the mail. The remote is now working. I will go to the dealer tomorrow to get the key transponder programmed and cut.

For 05s MAKE SURE the remote is FCC ID:KPU41788
