New 2010 M3 iTouring

Hi, all-

First, thanks to the Toronto Mazda 3 admins for running and maintaining the site-I'm very well aware of what it takes to keep something like this going. I drove a 2010 M3 i Touring/Gunmetal Blue off the lot two weeks ago-my 3rd Mazda('91 Miata when I was single, '96 Protege when I was first married). My round-trip daily commute is 100 miles-but since I work an off-shift and weekends, I beat the rush-hour traffic north of Boston. It's been a great car so far-
Since I'm an old fart, I don't see myself doing any real speed mods-maybe a little something for the handling- unfortunately,the mortgage has to come first- but any hints to help with the mpg are welcome.
I've been keeping the speed at 55, and with the A/C on very low, I hit 38.5 mpg on my last fillup-even with one morning when I hit the snooze button once too often, and averaged 70+ most of the way in. My old car was a big '99 Olds Intrigue, getting low to mid 20's with a 3.8l V-6 when I pushed it at 70 with the AC on. Since I spend two hours a day in it, I'll spend some of my gas savings on some audio gear...

Welcome Abroad... not much you can do to improve MPG #'s, except adjust your driving style (smooth, gradual acceleration... lower highway speeds... anticipating lights... etc)

What colour (color) did you get? I have a 2010 itouring too. Must go faster than your old protege.
As for gas savings you just gotta move closer to work or if not just forget about and enjoy the ride!!
Second option is better because we bought the Mazda for the zoom zoom experience.
