Do you have rust on your 3?

I have been looking into purchasing a used 04 mazda 3. I know there is a problem with rust in these cars. There are tons of threads talking about 3s with rust but not many on cars without and I couldn't find a poll on this using the search function. I just want to see how big of a problem this actually is. It may just be wishful thinking but maybe there is only a highly outspoken minority of people with rusting.

Some say mazda corrected this rust problem in 06, others say it was corrected in 07 so poll has been designed to reflect this.

my 05 has stupid amounts of rust where, in my opinion it shouldn't. My friend owned this car before me and had it rustproofed from the dealer... imo, these cars should be rustproofed every year. My 1998 Honda Civic has less rust than my '05 Mazda 3

My 04 has rust too, and this isn't the ones from chipped paint, they're from the side wells, and the rear quarter where it meets the bumper.

my 06 has barely any rust, and if there is any its microscopic!

my 05 i had it until 09 never had any rust

my of had rust on it before it got fixed but there are some areas that weren't covered under warranty so there are still some spots left.

2005 GT Hatch- Not a spot of rust on body. Minor surface rust on undercarriage which is comparable to a car that has been Krowned every year (as per Jimmy).

2008.5 Speed3. No rust.

Neither car has ever been rustproofed. I simply wash them regularly in winter and wax them at least once or twice a year. Usually late spring and late fall.

My 08 has no rust and i Krown mine every year..my brother wife car is a 08 to had she has rust..it all ready went in earlier this summer for rust repair and now it's back at the body shop geting rust repair again and her car also gets Krowned every year. The guy at the body shop said it will keep coming back unless they cut out the quater panel and replace it...but mazda canada will not apporve that kind of work..oh well let mazda canada keep paying the bill dumbass

Mine has rust.. been repaired twice.. going in for third soon not sure if still warrantied.

I got it used and can't speak to previous owner but I have krowned it every year since I got it.

Mazda canada pays for rust repair as long as the car is under 5 years old..(someone correct me if i'm wrong)
