Default Just added a subwoofer to my stock stereo

I have been wanting to add a sub to my car fo a while. I was going to get a steal enclosure made by audio integrations but the enclosure alone is around 300 buck or a 10 inch. I have a 2010 mazda 3 sport gs.

What I ended up doing is buying jl 12w3 in a jl box and a 1000.1 TMA amp. I got them both off of Kijiji for 360 for the set and i had them installed at audio heaven. I used 4 gauge wiring and the install looks very clean. After a bit of tuning This set up sound amazing. more bass then i know what to do with. I have the factory deck`s bass turned to -4 and the treble to -2. the low pass to 120 hz and the gain to about 70%. the bass boost is set at 0. the system sounds insane and there is no rattling or vibration from the car at all. I am really happy with this set up. and to clear up any confusion about TMA. They are owned by JL but not made by them. However, the amp is very powerful and clean sounding.

Theres not much to take pictures of but i will post a pic or two later.

How did you get the output from the stock stereo to the AMP? or how did Audio Heaven do it?

Or you can purchase an amp with speaker level input.

I have a pioneer 150W amp and pulled the source from the rear speaker wires from the drivers side B-pillar, without a LOC, pounds plenty

the gain and low pass seem a little high! Maybe lower the gain to around 50%, lower the lp filter to 90 and then up the bass a little bit through the head unit, might give a bit better SQ! I really do miss having big bass in my car, in my 3 I just have a stealth enclosure for an 8" boston sub. It sounds great...but leaves a little to be desired for that real punch.

    Get some pics up!
