Post Should I get a new CD player for broken one? Help!!

I took my car back in for my CD player which was not working properly. They are going to replace the player, but I am worried if I am going to cause more problems? On my old car, I had major issues with the dashboard. The dashboard had to be replaced 6 times and then when the car was 6 years old, it (dashboard) cracked, assumedly due to the constant repairs. I just do not want to cause more problems, but at the same time I want a player that works! Has anyone had their player replaced for any reason? Any advice as to what would be the best thing to do going forward would be greatly appreciated!

Didn't you make a thread before about this?

IIRC I told you that the player comes out easily, the dash won't be touched at all. Just the vents above the player/radio needs to be removed, that's it. I don't think you should be worried about it. I've done it myself and I'm not even close to professional.

TFR....when you say the vents have to be removed, do they just put the same ones back in again? Or is that part of the replacement?

You don't even have to remove the vent panel. You remove trim strip across the dash. Pull the screws to the vent panel, then the radio screws, lift the vent panel about 5mm. I would only do when the plastic is warm however.
