Question PLEASE HELP - Low Beams go out when driving over a bump.

I've noticed that my low beams have been going out sometimes when I drive over a bump. Sometimes putting the high beams on and off will cause them to pop back on. However I noticed that if I shut my lights to off then back to on they don't always come back on.

Doesn't happen all the time. Highbeams, DRLs are fine. I did replace the bulbs before researching the problem; that didn't resolve the issue.

I've read about this common problem with different cars online but really wanted to know if anyone with a Mazda or with Electrical experience could comment on this issue.

Any comments, suggesting, advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thank you
    Ashley

Check the wires for loose connections or partially broken wires.

I had this problem with my 3....The problem for me was the plastic part that holds the bulb (prongs )
It has 2 small metal pieces that the bulb slip in and I had it melt so I went to mazda and bought a new attachment. Cost me $9.00(per side) I changed both
    No more flickering/twisting etc.

should be the connection or the socket and the metal pin is black overtime with the bulbs. what I did is use a flat head screw driver and scrape the 2 pin to make it clean. it work for me.

i had my hid installed by kelvin? i think his name was? (met a kevin that same day so i dont remember lol) we had problems with the terminals being a bit corroded. looked like a copper alloy? anything copper will corrode pretty easy and fast. i would either recommend doing wat racingbees said and scrape some of. or you can do it the way i did it. hot un-adulterated connector interplay. take the male part and shove it into the female many times over and over again. (not too hard where itll break) this should clean them up pretty good and if not, it should at least get a good conection. but then again it might not be that.

you said it was flickering. not completely dead with a good bulb. so something is loose and is opening and closing the circuit. most likely the wires to the connector. try turning the car lights on and open the hood. jiggle the wires to the head lights. if they flicker, check the wires, if you found the bad wire. try and push it in hard and use some electrical tape to keep it there. if that doesnt work then u can do wat polishprince did and splice in a new connector
