    Default Insurance Recomendations.

Alright, im 20, I have my G2 still. I drive a 06 Mazda GS sedan, Ive got no accidents or speeding. Yet my rate is..

"We have recalculated your rate. Here is the lowest rate from a comparison of over 30 insurance companies, based on the profile below:

    Rate: $6647 *"

WOW, no one is cheap!! Honestly, why so high?

I need to find someone to get me a hookup, I even have winter tires. Driving school and all that shit to possibly make it lower. Anyway I can get a lower number???

Insurance depends on many things, not just your driving record. Type of car (and associated safety data) where you live, whether you have any affiliations with associations (ie. Ontario Teachers' Federeration, etc)....

Are you only quoting from one company though? There are loads of other "smaller" insurance firms that provide much more competitive quotes. Johnson's is one of them I believe.

Or you can grab a random woman and get married to her - that'll drop your insurance rate pretty good...

Are you a student? A lot of places have student discounts. I know State Farm has one as long as you maintain a B- average or better. With a perfect record like that you maybe able to drop it even more with other discounts. Call a few brokers too, they may be able to get better prices.

oh! so this is the reason people get married.

honestly though, when you get your full G that will help alot. im 21 driving an rx8 with one speeding conviction (no points though) and my premium is way lower than yours. like others said, there are alot of things that play into the price. where you live can be a big one. another thing is years of experience as a primary driver an a given policy. the company im with now is TD Insurance. i recomend calling them for a quote. they were suprisingly cheap and offer very good coverage. also, if you are going to change companies, you have to do it at renewal time otherwise they slam you with huge fees to cancel the policy and they become so ignorant and hard to deal with when you mention cancelling the policy, so be sure before you mention anything to them. no offense to anyone that sells inurance, but insurance companies are scum in my experience....good luck. you'll need it.

and have kids. it will do alot . dont worry dante my insurance will be that when it renews. actually wait. i drive a 2008 mazda3 GS too, and my insurance is currently 5k a year. althought next year due to my accidents it will be like 7k. you are probably in a bad spot of living maybe, there are alot of factors in it. but your fully covered right? that makes alll the difference damn insurance companies

If random spontaneous marriages to homeless women doesn't tickle your fancy (wierdo... ), then you could always relocate your mailing address somewhere far far up north. I know a friend who's mother has a house out in butta-fook-o nowhere, and puts that as his address for his 3... bastid pays like 1/3 of my rate, and he actually resides in crime-central Rexdale

    I'm 23 and I'm with TD MM, 09 GS Sedan for 3400.

If you're a college/university student, you can get some discounts with TD MM.

Also they insurance companies can do investigations to find out where you "really" reside.

I don't understand the logic of paying insurance that high.

That's more than my car payments per year.

If possible go under your parent's policy as they would have discounts like home insurance (15%), multi vehicle (10%), loyalty (20%, and all that jazz

if not...consider selling the car and not driving at all. Honestly if its to save $7000 a year, do it.

$7000 a year is a year's tuition for university. Or good chunk of cash to invest in stocks, funds, futures.

I used to be with TD and now almost 3 yrs with Belair. I pay like $3700 annually for 2 drivers/ 2 cars. both G licenses and clean record. You can try them out. Doesn't hurt to get a quote from a lot of insurance companies if at the end of the day you know you'll save some $$.

The problem is where you live - the GTA has some of the most expensive insurance in the world. The sheer amount of bad drivers and crashes (weren't there 15+ accidents on TM3 alone?) means someone has to cover it. Back when I lived in Toronto I would see at least one major accident every day in winter. On one particular day, I witnessed FOUR separate accidents happen right in front of me. Toronto is full of bad drivers, and the weather doesn't help things either.

For comparison - in California I pay less than half of what I used pay for a Mazda in Toronto, on a policy with a BMW and an Audi. Adding the Audi to my policy increased my premiums by $60 (not a typo) per year.

With all that said - try Belair Direct. They seem to have the lowest rates.

true enough at it was 17 accidents for tm3. but i think only 4 of them were writeoff's but what he said was right. ontario is the worst for premiums in the first place, mine is 5k a year and gonna go up before it keeps going down. bleh

hurry up and get your G license. The number of years you are a FULLY licensed driver helps to reduce your rates.

I agree with those above - the area you live in plays a HUGE part on your premiums.

Just moving from KW back to Brampton my premiums went up $400 just by switching districts
